2026 Conference on Clinical and Research Innovation in Respiratory Medicine Successfully Held

On May 30, 2026, the 2026 Conference on Clinical and Research Innovation in Respiratory Medicine was successfully held at Xijing Hospital of the Air Force Medical University. The conference was organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and hosted by the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) of Xijing Hospital. Through innovative approaches integrating medicine and engineering, interdisciplinary collaboration, and data-driven research, the conference focused on new concepts, emerging technologies, and future directions in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases. More than 200 representatives from healthcare institutions across Shaanxi Province and other regions attended the meeting.

The scientific program featured presentations by leading national experts in respiratory medicine and related disciplines. Topics included precision diagnosis and treatment of respiratory infections, precision therapy for sleep-related breathing disorders, development and interpretation of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, advances in lung cancer screening technologies, large language model (LLM)-enabled clinical decision support, applications of precision gas measurement technologies, and other cutting-edge developments in clinical practice and translational research.

One of the highlights of the conference was the inaugural PCCM Comprehensive Competency Competition. Young physicians participated in a series of knowledge- and case-based challenges centered on representative clinical cases and contemporary issues in respiratory medicine. The competition consisted of three components: Advances in Respiratory Medicine Knowledge Challenge, Clinical Case Presentation Competition, and Structured Clinical Debate, providing participants with an opportunity to demonstrate both their clinical expertise and innovative thinking.

The conference provided a high-level platform for academic exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration, promoted the integration of clinical practice with scientific research and technological innovation, and contributed to the continued advancement of respiratory medicine in the region.
