Shaanxi Musculoskeletal, Neurological, and Vascular Ultrasound Conference Successfully Held

On July 25, 2026, the Shaanxi Musculoskeletal, Neurological, and Vascular Ultrasound Conference was successfully held at the Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine. The conference was organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and jointly hosted by the Department of Ultrasound Medicine of Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University, and the Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, with support from the Shaanxi Ultrasound Medicine Specialty Alliance. More than 150 ultrasound professionals from healthcare institutions across Shaanxi Province attended the meeting to exchange academic insights and share clinical experience.

The scientific program featured expert lectures on standardized vascular ultrasound examinations, integrated minimally invasive management of lower-extremity varicose veins, multidimensional assessment of carotid artery disease, and ultrasound-guided diagnosis and intervention for musculoskeletal pain. In addition to the academic sessions, hands-on training covered ultrasound assessment of diabetic musculoskeletal and peripheral neuropathic complications, standardized scanning protocols for the neck, shoulder, and knee, as well as live demonstrations of ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block and sphenopalatine ganglion block techniques. Practical instruction also addressed the ultrasound-based diagnosis and treatment of common conditions, including adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), knee osteoarthritis, and neck and low back pain, helping participants standardize clinical procedures and enhance their diagnostic and interventional skills in musculoskeletal, neurological, and vascular ultrasound.

The conference established an efficient platform for academic exchange and professional collaboration in the fields of musculoskeletal, neurological, and vascular ultrasound across Shaanxi Province. Looking ahead, the Ultrasound Medicine Committee of SIMEPA will continue to strengthen regional collaboration, promote the standardization and consistency of ultrasound diagnosis and intervention, and support the delivery of high-quality, standardized ultrasound services to patients throughout the province.
