2026 Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the SIMEPA Chronic Kidney Disease Management Committee Successfully Held

From July 24 to 25, 2026, the 2026 Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the Chronic Kidney Disease Management Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) was successfully held in Xi'an. The conference was organized by SIMEPA and jointly hosted by Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and the Chronic Kidney Disease Management Committee of SIMEPA. More than 300 experts and scholars from healthcare institutions across Shaanxi Province and other regions participated in the meeting, engaging in in-depth discussions on the latest advances in chronic kidney disease research and clinical practice, with the aim of enhancing nephrology care throughout the region.

The conference featured presentations by leading experts in nephrology from across China. Professor Liu Zhihong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Eastern Theater Command General Hospital, delivered the keynote lecture entitled "Exploration and Innovation in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Kidney Diseases." Drawing on the latest developments in nephrology, Professor Liu systematically reviewed innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies and emerging directions in kidney disease research, providing valuable guidance for both clinical practice and academic investigation.

The scientific program included keynote lectures, clinical practice guideline interpretation, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions, covering key topics such as precision diagnosis and treatment of chronic kidney disease, blood purification and peritoneal dialysis management, prevention and management of complications, and disciplinary development in nephrology. The conference successfully combined scientific innovation with practical clinical applications, generating active academic discussions and receiving highly positive feedback from participants.

The meeting provided an efficient platform for academic exchange and technical collaboration among nephrology professionals from within and beyond Shaanxi Province. Building on the success of this conference, the Chronic Kidney Disease Management Committee of SIMEPA will continue to integrate high-quality medical resources, strengthen academic collaboration, promote the translation of research findings into clinical practice, further standardize the regional management of kidney diseases, and continuously improve the quality of chronic kidney disease care, ultimately enhancing kidney health across the province.
