GCP Training Program for Drug and Medical Device Clinical Trials Successfully Held by SIMEPA

On July 18, 2026, the Provincial Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program—2026 Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training for Drug and Medical Device Clinical Trials (Provincial CME Project No. 2026-12-07-004 (Shaanxi)) was successfully held in Xi'an. The program was organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and jointly hosted by the Clinical Research and Medical Ethics Committee of SIMEPA, the Hospital Pharmacy Committee of SIMEPA, and the School of Stomatology, Xi'an Jiaotong University.

The training focused on the key principles of the revised Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, providing comprehensive instruction on the interpretation and implementation of the updated regulations, risk-based quality management in clinical trials, and the standardized development of clinical trial protocols. Combining the latest regulatory requirements with practical case studies, the program reviewed quality management throughout the entire clinical trial process. It also addressed common challenges encountered by frontline clinical research professionals, including statistical methodology, protocol design and writing, ethics review, trial implementation, and quality management, offering practical solutions with both regulatory and clinical relevance.

The training program established a valuable platform for academic exchange and professional development in clinical research across Shaanxi Province and beyond, facilitating the effective implementation of the updated GCP standards for drug and medical device clinical trials. Looking ahead, SIMEPA will continue to respond to the evolving needs of clinical research by organizing regular, high-quality continuing medical education programs, further strengthening the quality of regional clinical trials and supporting the high-quality development of clinical research in pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
