Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association will take the opportunity of the China-Central Asia Summit to collaborate with Central Asian countries and countries along the "Belt and Road" initiative to jointly construct and support each other. The focus will be on developing cooperation in the health industry, contributing to the high-quality development of healthcare in Shaanxi.

On the afternoon of August 23, 2023, at the invitation of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Bounkong SYHAXONG, former Minister of Health of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and current Vice Chairman of the Lao Medical Council, Bounnack SAYSANASONGKHAM, former Deputy Director of the Health Department of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and current Vice Chairman of the Health Professional Committee of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Ministry of Health, along with Thongsavanh SENGKONGDALA, Deputy Director of the Traditional Medicine Research Institute, visited Baqiao District, Xi'an City, to conduct cultural exchanges on traditional Chinese medicine.

During the symposium, Han, Cuining, Vice President of Baqiao District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, briefly introduced the development overview of the hospital in terms of the construction of characteristic departments in traditional Chinese medicine, talent cultivation in traditional Chinese medicine, characteristic diagnosis and treatment projects in traditional Chinese medicine, and the construction of traditional Chinese medicine culture. She expressed the hope that in the future work, there will be strengthened communication, enhanced understanding, deepened friendship, and mutual development and progress. She emphasized the inheritance of the spirit of Zhang, Zhongjing, the promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture, the further improvement of the hospital's medical level and service capabilities, and making greater contributions to the development of traditional Chinese medicine and the health of the people.

Zhang, Dezhu, Vice General Manager and Director of the Research Institute at Shaanxi Panlong Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., introduced the situation of Panlong Pharmaceutical Group. Located in the Panlong Ecological Industrial Park at the southern foot of the Qinling Mountains, known as the "natural medicine treasure trove," Panlong Pharmaceutical Group is a large-scale traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing enterprise with an annual turnover exceeding 1.5 billion yuan. It integrates "cultivation, collection, production, supply, research, and sales" and is dedicated to creating the "Qin Medicine" brand. Panlong Pharmaceutical Group deeply cultivates the traditional Chinese medicine industry and strives to become a leading enterprise in western traditional Chinese medicine.

Through this exchange, they hope to leverage each other's strengths and characteristics to further enhance cooperation in natural drug research and development, as well as in the import and export of Chinese medicinal materials. In her address, Wang, Ning, Vice President and Secretary-General of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, expressed that the association will fully leverage the advantages of industry associations. The Laotian medical experts presented reports on "The Development and Current Status of Medical Science in Laos" and "The Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Laos." They also visited the Qinling Qin Medicine Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Exhibition Hall, where they experienced various traditional Chinese medicine techniques such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping therapy, massage, and the use of characteristic Chinese herbal medicines.

They engaged in in-depth discussions with the heads of various disciplines and praised the distinctive features and exquisite techniques of traditional Chinese medicine services in Baqiao District. They expressed their intention to bring back what they learned during their visit to Shaanxi to Laos, and to strive to build bridges for the promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture. They also aimed to expand channels for international cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine, conduct substantive cooperation such as exchange visits and short-term personnel training, and jointly promote and share achievements in medical science. Their goal is to contribute to the revitalization and development of traditional Chinese medicine and traditional medicine, enhance the international influence of traditional Chinese medicine, and better serve human health.
