The visiting delegation consisted of experts and professors from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, the Stomatology Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, the Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, and the Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Encephalopathy. This activity aimed to build a platform for medical exchange along the Belt and Road Initiative, create a demonstration area for health and wellness cooperation between the two countries, further promote the construction of a China-Central Asia health community, and explore specialized cooperation and assistance in hospital construction between China and Tajikistan.

On January 23, after arriving in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, and taking a short rest, the delegation, led by Wang, Meng, the Secretary-General of the SCO Hospital Cooperation Alliance, immediately went to the "China-Tajikistan Medical Diagnosis and Treatment Center" under the Tajikistan Ministry of Health for a volunteer clinic and medicine donation activity. They provided high-quality medical consultation and voluntary clinic services to Chinese expatriates and local people in Tajikistan. The activity received significant attention from the Tajikistan national television, which conducted interviews and reported on the event.

On the evening of January 24, at the invitation of the Chinese Embassy in Tajikistan, some experts from the delegation attended a health science popularization lecture at the embassy, where they also provided health consultations. Before the lecture, the Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan, Shu Min, and Counselor Wang Guochun received four representatives from the Shaanxi medical delegation.

On the morning of January 25, the First Deputy Minister of Health of Tajikistan, Abdukhokhlik Amirzoda, met with all members of the Shaanxi Province Medical Exchange Delegation in the conference room on the fifth floor of the newly inaugurated Ministry of Health office building, which was constructed with Chinese assistance. He stated that the Shaanxi medical delegation was the first foreign inspection and exchange group to visit the new office building and also the first foreign inspection and exchange group of 2024, marking an important time point and significance. He welcomed the arrival of the Shaanxi medical delegation and expressed gratitude for the selfless help and guidance provided by Shaanxi medical experts during the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control period. He praised Shaanxi for its support in sharing anti-epidemic experiences, donating supplies, and providing medical technical assistance. He also expressed hope that China, especially Shaanxi Province, would continue to strengthen contact and cooperation with the Tajikistan Ministry of Health, supporting high-quality development in the medical field along the Belt and Road Initiative. Li, Anjun, the leader of the delegation, and Secretary-General Wang, Meng, on behalf of the Shaanxi delegation, presented souvenirs and took photos for remembrance.

Subsequently, guided by officials from the Tajikistan Ministry of Health, all members of the Shaanxi Province Medical Exchange Delegation visited and exchanged ideas at Tajikistan's largest medical institution, Karabolo Hospital. The hospital director met with the delegation and introduced the basic situation of the hospital. Afterwards, experts from the delegation went to various departments such as the laboratory, pediatrics, ICU, dentistry, and neurology to conduct exchange interviews, understand the basic situation of the hospital, and discuss further clinical technical exchanges, expert visits, telemedicine, and personnel training, aiming to promote the continuous development of the friendly cooperation between the two hospitals.

During the visit, under the leadership of Secretary-General Wang, Meng of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Hospital Cooperation Alliance, some experts from the delegation visited Vahdat Hospital, located 22 kilometers from Dushanbe. They also toured the Tajikistan Traditional Medicine Center and a third-party testing institution in Dushanbe to conduct field investigations. They engaged in extensive visits and research to discuss deep cooperation on matters such as specialty assistance construction, hospital counterpart support, and the development of teleconsultation platforms for the next steps between the two countries.

The medical exchange and cooperation between China and Tajikistan are win-win, writing a new chapter in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Leveraging the China-Central Asia Summit and the "Belt and Road" international cooperation and exchange opportunities, the visiting team from the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association actively promoted medical and health exchanges and cooperation with Central Asian countries. By enhancing personnel exchanges, academic exchanges, and information sharing, both sides improved their understanding and trust in each other's healthcare systems. By sending expert teams, sharing advanced technology, and management experience, they aimed to improve the medical service level and patient welfare of hospitals in the partner country.

The Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association will use this exchange as an opportunity to fully play its role as a bridge and link, promoting deep exchanges and cooperation in the medical and health field between China and Central Asian countries, and making a positive contribution to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
