Successful Hosting of the 3rd “Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine: Beijing-Shaanxi Synergy” Thyroid Disease Expert Forum

On April 18, the 3rd “Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine: Beijing-Shaanxi Synergy” Thyroid Disease Expert Forum was successfully held in Tongchuan. The forum was jointly organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and Sun, Simiao Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Over 300 medical professionals from 29 medical institutions at various levels in Tongchuan and across the country attended the event.

During the event, Lei, Ying, Vice Mayor of Tongchuan City, and Chen, Zhao, President of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, jointly unveiled the plaque for Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Sun, Simiao Hospital, which has become a vice-president unit of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association. Additionally, the Vice Secretary-General of the City Government, Hao ,Yafeng, the Secretary of the Municipal Health Commission, Zhao, Xiaolong, and Wang, Zengqiang, Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Innovation and Application Center, unveiled the plaques for the Jia, Chengwen Famous Doctor Inheritance Studio, Li, Jing Famous Doctor Inheritance Studio, and Guo, Hailing Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Inheritance Studio.

The forum featured the launch ceremony of the textbook “Traditional and Western Medicine Combined Thyroidology,” edited by Professor Ding, Zhiguo, as part of the “14th Five-Year Plan” for higher education graduate textbooks. It also included the awarding of plaques to six new member institutions joining the Shaanxi Province Traditional and Western Medicine Combined Thyroid Disease Specialist Alliance, including the 7th Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, the Ordos Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Inner Mongolia, the Chengbei Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xining City in Qinghai Province, the Weiyuan County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Gansu Province, the Yulin City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Shaanxi Province, and the Ruicheng County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Shanxi Province.

During the forum, Luo, Hongying and Zhang, Tao from Sun, Simiao Hospital, among others, were accepted as disciples by Professors Jia, Chengwen, Ding, Zhiguo, Li, Jing, and Guo, Hailing. The forum also featured academic exchange lectures.

The forum was rich in content and yielded significant results. Establishing the Famous Doctor Inheritance Studios will enhance the overall strength of Sun, Simiao Hospital and provide solid talent and intellectual support for the development of traditional Chinese medicine in the city. This will play a leading role in advancing the construction of traditional Chinese medicine hospitals with distinctive features, significant clinical efficacy, and exemplary demonstration effects. The unveiling and awarding of plaques will further strengthen the links with countries along the “Belt and Road” in various academic fields, build platforms for higher-level, wider, and deeper connectivity and cooperation in the field of thyroid diseases, and contribute to the implementation of Tongchuan City's national traditional Chinese medicine inheritance and innovation development demonstration pilot project. This is of great significance for promoting the construction of a healthy China and advancing the development of traditional Chinese medicine.
