Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Organizes Expert Visit from Xi’an Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital to Kazakhstan

From July 16 to July 20, 2024, the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association organized a visit by a delegation of seven experts from Xi’an Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital, covering disciplines such as general surgery, cardiovascular internal medicine, oncology, cardiovascular surgery, and neurosurgery, to Kazakhstan.

During their visit, the delegation engaged with several key institutions:

- National Scientific Center for Cardiac Surgery

- National Cancer and Transplant Research Center

- China-Kazakhstan Traditional Medicine Center

- Astana Medical University 

- Kazakhstan National Public Health Institute

- Keruenmedicus Medical Center, Kazakhstan's largest private hospital

The delegation toured surgical rooms, radiology departments, and laboratories to understand the basic conditions of medical institutions and universities. They discussed various aspects including:

- Cancer diagnosis and treatment

- Organ transplantation techniques

- Cardiovascular disease management and minimally invasive surgical technologies

- TCM diagnostics and rehabilitation

They explored possibilities for clinical technical exchanges, expert visits, telemedicine, talent cultivation, and international cooperation projects, aiming to strengthen collaborative efforts in scientific research, talent development, and healthcare. The delegation expressed hope that this visit would deepen international medical exchanges and cooperation, and encouraged Kazakh medical personnel to visit Shaanxi and Xi’an Jiaotong University First Affiliated Hospital for further learning and cultural exchange.
