On the morning of September 21, supported by the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology, the 7th Western International Conference on Medical Quality and Patient Safety Management, themed "New Development, Quality Improvement, and Service Excellence," was hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and organized by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital. The conference opened in the Xixian New Area.

The conference featured one main venue and three sub-forums on "High-Quality Hospital Development and Specialty Capacity Building," "Healthcare Payment Reform and Quality," and "Collaborative Development of Medical Education and Quality." From September 21 to 22, 54 experts from 46 medical institutions conducted a total of 36 thematic presentations. The event aimed to unite medical administrators under the guidance of Xi, Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adhere to a people-centered development philosophy, focus on cutting-edge international medical management, and tackle deep-rooted systemic challenges and structural issues. This approach supports the expansion and balanced distribution of quality medical resources, enhances medical management, and improves healthcare risk prevention. The conference served as a bridge for communication in the field, showcasing new concepts, measures, and achievements in medical quality and patient safety management, contributing to the advancement of a Healthy China.

Prominent attendees included Professor Alua Yerlan from Astana Medical University in Kazakhstan, Professor Johnny Lau from the University of Toronto in Canada, Senior Nurse Professor Lü, Jing from Bethune Medical College in Canada, Professor Ram Hari Chapagain, Chief Advisor of the Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal, and Professor Santosh Adhikari, Head of Pediatrics at Kanti Children’s Hospital in Nepal, along with Shi Zhongrong, Inspector of the Shaanxi Health Commission, Chen, Zhao, President of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Song, Zhangjun, President of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, and other leaders and experts from the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology. The opening was hosted by Vice President Duan, Xianglong of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital.

On September 22, marking the first anniversary of the Xixian branch of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, the third sub-forum, "Shaanxi Province Medical-Education Collaboration Capacity Enhancement Workshop and Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital 2024 Faculty Training Program," commenced in the academic lecture hall of the Xixian campus, attended by teaching administrators and core faculty from 22 medical institutions across Shaanxi Province. Key attendees included Wu, Zhenlei, Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Ma, Feiyue, Level Four Researcher of the Higher Education Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, Lei, Junchuan, Director of the Science and Education Department of the Shaanxi Health Commission, and Zhang, Yulian, Party Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital.

The training program aims to explore new paths for collaborative medical education through the Medical-Education Collaboration Innovation Alliance, promoting an integrated model where medical students gain early, extensive, and repeated clinical experience, continuously enhancing healthcare service and educational quality.

Medical quality and patient safety are directly linked to public health and safety, forming the foundation of high-quality hospital development. Continuous improvement in medical quality and ensuring patient safety are fundamental to implementing national health strategies and building a Healthy China. Since its inception in 2018, the Western International Conference on Medical Quality and Patient Safety Management has successfully held six sessions, consistently focusing on the core themes of healthcare safety principles, risk management, and patient safety, comprehensively showcasing the latest achievements and trends in medical management worldwide.

The success of this conference has injected new energy into healthcare quality and patient safety management in the western region. Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association will continue to play a leading role, guided by an international perspective, to drive high-quality healthcare safety and quality construction in the western region, further enhancing medical service standards, safeguarding public health, and contributing to the Healthy China initiative.
