On October 13, the inaugural meeting and first academic conference of the Obesity and Metabolic Diseases Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and organized by Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital, was successfully held in Xi'an. The event was attended by Chen, Zhao, President of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association; Zhang, Bin, Vice President of Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital; and over 120 experts and scholars from more than 10 medical institutions, including the First and Second Affiliated Hospitals of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, the Air Force Medical University’s Xijing and Tangdu Hospitals, the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, and Xi'an Daxing Hospital.

During the inaugural meeting, the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association formally established the Obesity and Metabolic Diseases Committee, presenting appointment letters for Chair, Vice Chairs, Secretary-General, and Deputy Secretary-General. In his commitment speech, newly elected Chair Professor Ji. Qiuhe expressed his dedication to leading committee members in advancing academic knowledge, clinical research, talent development, research collaboration, grassroots medical outreach, teaching, and coordinated initiatives to enhance research and practice in the field of obesity and metabolic diseases, contributing to national health improvement.

In the subsequent academic conference, prominent experts engaged in in-depth discussions on obesity and metabolic diseases, providing a rich and diverse array of content. The conference offered attendees valuable opportunities for academic exchange and learning while advancing the province's capabilities in endocrine and metabolic disease prevention and treatment, as well as obesity and metabolic disease management. Looking ahead, the Obesity and Metabolic Diseases Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association will continue leveraging its strengths to provide stronger health support for the people of Shaanxi.
