Western China Medical Insurance Expert Forum and the 3rd Hospital Medical Insurance Management Conference Successfully Held in Xi'an

On April 12, 2025, the Western China Medical Insurance Expert Forum and the 3rd Hospital Medical Insurance Management Conference, hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and organized by Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, were successfully held in Xi’an. Themed "Empowering with Medical Insurance and Promoting Tri-Medical Synergy," the event aimed to promote high-quality development of hospital medical insurance, ensure the secure and rational use of insurance funds, and improve healthcare coverage. More than 200 experts and delegates from within and outside Shaanxi, including leaders in hospital management, medical insurance, pharmaceutical affairs, and related functional departments, attended the forum.

The conference featured two main venues. Over 40 professors and senior experts from institutions such as the Shaanxi Medical Insurance Research Association, Shaanxi Medical Insurance Fund Center, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Medical University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shandong First Medical University Provincial Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, Inner Mongolia People’s Hospital, Gansu Provincial People’s Hospital, and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Lanzhou University, joined participants in in-depth discussions and studies. Key topics included the current state of medical insurance fund supervision, capacity enhancement under high-quality hospital development, lean management practices in public hospitals amid DRG payment reform, and the implementation of electronic prescription systems for outsourced pharmaceuticals.

The event offered participants an opportunity to comprehensively understand the latest developments in medical insurance reform and learn from advanced practices in medical insurance management. It built a vital communication bridge among hospitals, insurance authorities, and academic experts. Through policy interpretation, case sharing, and interdisciplinary dialogue, the conference fostered consensus on tri-medical coordination and provided practical guidance for meeting challenges such as ongoing fund supervision and DRG/DIP payment reform. It strongly supported the secure and efficient use of insurance funds and the overall enhancement of healthcare services. Going forward, Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital will continue to play a leading role in the industry, integrating diverse insights to promote deep synergy among medical insurance, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals, injecting new momentum into the advancement of regional healthcare security.
