Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Successfully Designs Logo for Egyptian Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine

On May 5, 2025, a logo designed by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) for the Egyptian Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine was officially approved by the Egyptian Medical Association and received high praise from its president. This achievement highlights the exceptional expertise of SIMEPA’s medical design team and serves as a vivid testament to the deep integration of Chinese and Egyptian medical cultures.

The logo project was led by Professor Jiao Fuyong, Honorary President of SIMEPA, with technical support from the Xi’an Zhongtong Rehabilitation Hospital team. To ensure that the design embodied the essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) while reflecting Egypt’s unique local characteristics, the team conducted in-depth studies of the two nations’ history, art, and medical texts. From the ancient legends along the Nile to the benevolent tales of Sun Simiao, from the geometric aesthetics of the Egyptian pyramids to the TCM philosophy of harmony between heaven and humanity, the team held repeated discussions and revised their drafts multiple times. In the end, six creative designs were presented, blending Chinese traditional art forms such as papercutting and relief with Egyptian hieroglyphics and desert elements.

Among these, a design featuring the Egyptian pyramid as the base and the figure of Sun Simiao from the Tang Dynasty stood out during the Egyptian Medical Association’s evaluation. In the design, the pyramid stands solid and calm, symbolizing Egypt’s millennia-old medical wisdom. Sun Simiao, holding his medical book *Qianjin Fang*, gazes benevolently into the distance. The flowing lines of his robe echo the contours of the pyramid, harmonizing the Eastern ideal of “great doctors with sincere hearts” with the profound weight of Egyptian civilization. The president of the Egyptian Medical Association remarked, “This logo embodies a medical dialogue across time and space. The combination of the pyramid and Sun Simiao is the most vivid symbol of China-Egypt medical cooperation.”

A representative from SIMEPA noted that this project was not only a piece of visual art but also a cultural mission. In recent years, TCM practices such as acupuncture and massage have gained wide recognition in Egypt. The founding of the Egyptian Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the creation of its logo will further promote the structured dissemination of TCM theory in Egypt. Future collaborations will include joint treatments and academic exchanges, aiming to bring the benefits of TCM to more Egyptian citizens.

The successful design of this logo marks a new milestone in China-Egypt medical collaboration. It not only builds a visual cultural bridge for bilateral medical exchange but also demonstrates to the world that the wisdom of traditional medicine transcends borders and finds renewed vitality through mutual learning and exchange.
