SIMEPA Pediatric Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolic Diseases Committee Successfully Holds Annual Academic Conference

From November 7 to 8, 2025, the “Annual Academic Conference of the Pediatric Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolic Diseases Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA)” was successfully held in Xi’an. The event was hosted by SIMEPA and jointly organized by the Committee and Xi’an Ninth Hospital, providing a high-quality academic exchange platform for specialists in pediatric endocrinology from within and outside the province.

The conference was chaired by Prof. He, Bo, Vice President of SIMEPA. As Chair of the Committee, Yan, Xiaoli, former Vice President of Xi’an Children’s Hospital and current Director of Pediatrics at Xi’an Ninth Hospital, presented appointment certificates to newly elected Vice Chairs and committee members. She emphasized that she will unite pediatric specialists across the province to continue advancing research and clinical practice in pediatric endocrinology, genetic disorders, and metabolic diseases, further contributing to the development of the discipline.

The conference invited top provincial and national experts in pediatric endocrinology, genetics, and metabolic diseases to deliver lectures. Experts presented the latest research findings and practical clinical experience on a series of cutting-edge topics and diagnostic challenges, including pediatric type 2 diabetes, developmental epileptic encephalopathy, learning difficulties, and pediatric hypothyroidism. Chair Yan, Xiaoli not only delivered an excellent lecture but also provided a comprehensive summary of the conference and outlined directions for future work.

The successful convening of the conference created a valuable opportunity for pediatric medical professionals—especially those specializing in pediatric endocrinology, genetics, and metabolic diseases—to engage in academic learning and exchange. The SIMEPA Pediatric Endocrinology, Genetics and Metabolic Diseases Committee expressed that it will take this annual meeting as a new starting point. Under the leadership of Chair Yan, Xiaoli, the Committee will continue to strengthen disciplinary development and talent cultivation, elevate clinical diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and contribute more significantly to the high-quality development of children’s healthcare in Shaanxi Province and nationwide.
