International Symposium on Medical–Engineering Collaborative Innovation and
Silk Road University Alliance 2025 Medical–Engineering Forum Successfully Held
On November 29, the International Symposium on Medical–Engineering Collaborative Innovation and the Silk Road University Alliance 2025 Medical–Engineering Forum, jointly hosted by The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University and the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, successfully concluded at the Academic Lecture Hall of the Science and Education Building of The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
The forum was themed “Integrated Development of Medicine and Engineering, Innovation Leading the Future” and was conducted in a hybrid format combining on-site and online participation with global live streaming. The event brought together leading experts and scholars from China, Kazakhstan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and other countries in the fields of medical–engineering integration, rehabilitation, and orthopedics. Through keynote speeches, thematic discussions, and achievement presentations, the forum established a high-level international academic exchange platform, injecting new momentum into the promotion of integrated medical–engineering innovation and medical science and technology cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
In addition to well-known domestic experts, the forum also invited authoritative international experts from Kazakhstan; Germany’s Hellersen Sports Center; the University of Exeter; Imperial College London; the KTH Royal Institute of Technology; The University of Hong Kong; and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The experts delivered themed presentations focusing on clinical ultra-low-field magnetic resonance imaging, the development and clinical application of intelligent rehabilitation assessment systems, biomaterial innovation and adaptive design of orthopedic implants, breakthroughs in brain–computer interface technology in neurorehabilitation, and experience sharing on medical rehabilitation technology innovation from the “Surgical Dream Factory.” Interactive discussions were conducted around the topic of “clinically problem-oriented medical–engineering integration innovation and clinical application,” during which broad consensus was reached on key issues such as technology translation bottlenecks, talent cultivation models, and international cooperation mechanisms.
The forum attracted a large global audience of professionals from the medical and engineering fields to participate online. The successful convening of the forum not only showcased the latest research achievements in medical–engineering integration both domestically and internationally, but also established new channels for Belt and Road medical–engineering innovation cooperation, laying a solid foundation for advancing medical technology breakthroughs, improving healthcare service quality, and promoting coordinated international development in medical science and technology.
