SIMEPA Endocrinology and Diabetes Committee Holds Leadership Election and 2026 Annual Academic Conference

On March 28, 2026, the Leadership Election Meeting and 2026 Annual Academic Conference of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) was successfully held in Xi'an. Organized by SIMEPA and hosted by Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, the conference brought together more than 200 endocrinology experts and scholars from over 40 medical institutions across Shaanxi Province. Participants witnessed the formation of the new Committee, exchanged insights on the latest developments in endocrinology and metabolic medicine, and discussed new strategies and directions for the high-quality development of the discipline.

During the meeting, the Committee successfully completed its leadership election. Professor Li Xiaofeng, Director of the Department of Endocrinology at Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, was re-elected as Chair of the Committee. Professor Wang Yangwei of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and Professor Xu Jing of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were appointed as Committee Advisors. In addition, eleven distinguished experts from across the province, including Professors Ma Lifen, Zhang Youjie, Tian Zhufang, Li Ya, Qi Xuelin, Liu Ping, and Liu Xinqiong, were elected as Vice Chairs, further strengthening the Committee's academic leadership and organizational capacity.

The academic conference featured a comprehensive program closely aligned with current clinical practice. A series of keynote lectures, multidisciplinary discussions of challenging clinical cases, and academic exchange sessions addressed major topics in endocrinology and metabolic medicine, including current research advances, key clinical issues, and diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. Leading experts from across the province delivered in-depth presentations on important topics such as insulin resistance, introducing the latest clinical concepts and evidence-based management strategies. Their presentations provided valuable guidance and practical references for frontline clinicians seeking to optimize the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine and metabolic disorders.
