The Sixth Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SXIMEA) Chest Pain Professional Committee was successfully held

On December 24, 2022, the Sixth Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Chest Pain Professional Committee was successfully held through an online conference. The opening ceremony was hosted by Ning Wang, Secretary General of the SXIMEA, and Zhao Chen, President of SXIMEA, and Jianhua Wang, Vice President of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, visited the meeting and delivered a speech.

More than 30 well-known cardiovascular experts and scholars from inside and outside the province were invited to share their academic insights online, with over 10,000 participants attending the conference, presenting an academic feast for cardiovascular doctors in various hospitals across the province.

President Zhao Chen pointed out that the experts and professors attending the conference had shown admirable perseverance in sharing and learning during the epidemic period. He hoped that through academic discussions, more accurate diagnosis and treatment could be provided for cardiovascular disease patients with COVID-19. Deputy Director Wang Jianhua also noted that the mortality rate of cardiovascular diseases is still high. Through academic discussions, breakthroughs can be made in chronic disease management, further reducing the risk of death from cardiovascular diseases and benefiting people.

SXIMEA chest pain professional committee chairman, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital Cardiovascular Hospital Professor Gong Cheng's presided over the academic conference, Experts and scholars from domestic and foreign institutions such as the First Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Medical University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, the Second Affiliated Hospital Of Xi'an Jiaotong University (Xibei Hospital), the West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the Southwest Hospital of AMU (Southwest Hospital), Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital,the BaoJi People's Hospital, the Ninth Hospital of Xi’an, the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University (Xi'an No.3 Hospital), and Xi'an Red Cross Hospital, combined their many years of clinical experience to deliver lectures on the latest developments and hot topics in the cardiovascular field, covering various clinical and scientific research issues, including coronary intervention techniques, the latest diagnosis and treatment of heart failure, hypertension prevention and control, and blood lipid management. The discussion session after the academic sharing was in full swing. Although some experts and scholars had hoarse voices, their enthusiasm for academics made them briefly forget about their physical discomfort. They expressed their views on the latest scientific progress to provide a basis and ideas for clinical and scientific research.

With the support of the leaders of provincial hospitals and experts, and under the leadership of Gong Cheng, the Chest Pain Professional Committee leveraged its advantages and characteristics, united relevant professional experts and committees across the province, actively participated in various activities of the association, and actively established an academic exchange platform, sharing and progressing together. The successful holding of this conference allowed cardiovascular doctors from various levels and types of medical institutions in the province to gain a deeper understanding of the current status, cutting-edge developments, and research ideas of cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment from different perspectives. Attendees expressed that they benefited greatly from this conference.
