Taking the China-Central Asia Summit as an opportunity, SXIMEA will join hands with Central Asian countries as well as countries along the "Belt and Road" initiative to construct and assist each other. It will focus on developing cooperation in the health industry to make due contributions to promoting the high-quality development of health care in Shaanxi.

On the morning of August 22, 2023, accompanied by a delegation from Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Bounkong Syhaxong, former Minister of Health of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and current Vice Chairman of the Lao Medical Council, Bounnack Saysanasongkham, former Deputy Director of the Health Department of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and current Vice Chairman of the Health Professional Committee of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Ministry of Health, as well as Thongsavanh Sengkongdala, Deputy Director of the Traditional Medicine Research Institute, visited the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital.

Professor Jiao, Fuyong, Vice President of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and Head of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Hospital Cooperation Alliance, along with Ms. Wang, Ning, Vice President and Secretary-General of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, led a delegation to visit. They were accompanied by Wang, Jianhua, Vice President of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Zhang, Xiaoling, Director of the Medical Affairs Department, Peng Ning, Director of the Research Department, Zhang, Peng, Director of the Pharmacy Department, Tian, Yingxuan, Head of the Discipline Construction Office, and heads of relevant departments such as the Department of Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Pediatrics, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The symposium was chaired by Director Zhang, Xiaoling.

During the meeting, Vice President Wang, Jianhua extended a warm welcome to the guests who came from afar. He also gave a brief introduction to the basic overview and overall development of the provincial hospital. He expressed that the hospital will uphold a stance of friendly cooperation and, with the support of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, further strengthen cooperation with international medicine in alignment, talent cultivation, and scientific research. The aim is to continuously improve the level of medical technology and promote the sustainable development of traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture and herbal medicine, abroad. He also urged the heads of relevant departments to coordinate well, learn from each other, complement each other's strengths, and jointly promote improvement.

Wang, Ning, Vice President and Secretary-General of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, expressed gratitude to Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital for its strong support for the association's work. She stated that the association will leverage its advantages and characteristics in international exchanges to support Shaanxi Province and western China in aligning with international medicine. This includes promoting international cooperation and exchanges in medical technology, talent cultivation, industrial technology research and development, basic scientific research, and innovative development along the "Belt and Road" initiative. The aim is to further strengthen connections, collaborate in construction, mutual assistance, and focus on the development of the health industry. She emphasized the association's commitment to becoming a "warm and conscientious" exemplary organization in western China.

The Laotian medical experts exchanged views on "The Development and Current Situation of Medical Science in Laos" and "The Application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Laos."

After the symposium, the Laotian medical experts visited our hospital's Traditional Chinese Medicine department, Acupuncture department, and Herbal Medicine dispensary for on-site observation and engaged in deeper academic exchanges.
