On July 28th, the finals of the first Shaanxi Provincial Clinical Laboratory Skills Competition were successfully held in the ancient city of Xi'an. The competition was co-hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Education, Science, Culture, Health, and Sports Workers' Union, the Shaanxi Medical Association, and the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, with the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University as the organizer. Thirty medical units from all over the province, having stood out in the preliminary rounds, competed against each other. The directors of the laboratory departments of various top-tier hospitals in the province served as judges for the finals. Xu, Fuquan, Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Education, Science, Culture, Health, and Sports Workers' Union, Chen, Zhao, President of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Vice Presidents Wang, Ning, Hao, Xiaoke, the head of the Laboratory Medicine Branch of the Shaanxi Medical Association, Yi, Jingfeng, Vice Chairman of the Xi'an Jiaotong University Union, Feng Guanglin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Union at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, judges of the finals, and committee members, competing teams, and hundreds of colleagues from Shangluo, Ankang, Yulin, Yan'an, Tongchuan, Weinan, Xianyang, Baoji, Xi'an, and other cities attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Wang Xiaoqin, the head of the Laboratory Department at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Feng, Guanglin, on behalf of the organizing institution, extended a sincere welcome and best wishes to all experts and colleagues. He introduced the basics of the competition, expressing the hope that it would serve as an opportunity to build a platform for skill exchange among clinical laboratory personnel at the grassroots level in Shaanxi Province. Liu, Jiayun, Director of the Air Force Military Medical University Xijing Hospital, as a representative of the judges, took an oath to diligently fulfill the judging duties, strictly follow the regulations of the event, ensure organized and accurate judgment, and guarantee the fairness, equity, rigor, and accuracy of the competition's judging work.

Liu, Zeshi, representing the contestants from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, also took an oath, stating that they would conscientiously follow the arrangements of the competition, strictly adhere to the rules and discipline of the competition, leverage their skills, and strive for excellent achievements, levels, and style.

To ensure the fairness and impartiality of the competition, an academic committee was established, and the double-blind principle for the questions was adopted. All questions were sealed before the competition, and Mr. Zhang, Kun from the Shaanxi Provincial Education, Science, Culture, Health, and Sports Workers' Union conducted the opening of the questions on site. The final competition consisted of two parts: theoretical competition and practical operation competition. The theoretical competition included 100 questions related to the field, where the contestants concentrated fully and responded calmly. Their accurate answers to various difficult questions reflected their solid professional knowledge and sharp adaptability, showcasing the endless charm of medical laboratory science. The practical operation section included basic operations, morphology, and microbiology, aiming to test the contestants' basic clinical laboratory operations and case analysis abilities, while also integrating laboratory management and biosafety into the assessment. The contestants demonstrated their solid professional qualities efficiently and standardly. The judges, being meticulous and rigorous, gave full recognition to the contestants' excellent performances.

After intense competition in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the representative team from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University won the grand prize in the group category of the Shaanxi Provincial Clinical Laboratory Skills Competition. The teams from Yan'an People's Hospital and Baoji Central Hospital won the first prize in the group category. The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, the Stomatology Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Xi'dian Hospital won the second prize in the group category. The teams from Yulin Xingyuan Hospital, Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital, Yan'an University Affiliated Hospital, Xi'an Medical College Baoji Affiliated Hospital, and Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital were awarded the third prize in the group category of the Shaanxi Provincial Clinical Laboratory Skills Competition.

The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University, the Laboratory Medicine Branch of Xi'an Medical Association, the Laboratory Medicine Branch of Yan'an Medical Association, the Laboratory Medicine Branch of Ankang Medical Association, and the Laboratory Medicine Branch of Shangluo Medical Association were awarded the Excellent Organization Prize for the competition.

Zhang, Qiyue from Baoji Central Hospital, Zhang Yi from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Wang, Weiqi received the individual grand prize. Wei, Yanhu from Yan'an People's Hospital, Zang, Xiaoqing, and Wu, Liu from the Stomatology Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University received the individual first prize. Wang, Xiaoqian from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Liu, Jiale from Xi'an Medical College Baoji Hospital, Li, Jiao from Northwest Women's and Children's Hospital, Liu, Zeshi from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Zhang, Lei from Baoji Central Hospital, and Qu, Ning from Yan'an University Affiliated Hospital received the individual second prize. Zhou, Lili from Tongchuan People's Hospital, Zhang, Hua from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Ren, Baowei from Yan'an University Affiliated Hospital, Wang, Hao from Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital, Liu, Linbo from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University Yulin Hospital, Duan, Jinqiu from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University, Zhang, Bin from Xi'dian Hospital, Dong, Baozhen from Yulin Xingyuan Hospital, and Sun, Hui from Xi'an First Hospital received the individual third prize.
