The First Academic Conference of the Oncology Radiotherapy Professional Committee and the Launch Ceremony of the Sixth-Generation CyberKnife Held Successfully

On May 18, 2024, the first academic conference of the Oncology Radiotherapy Professional Committee of the Shaanxi Medical Promotion Association was successfully held in Xi’an. The event was hosted by the Shaanxi Medical Promotion Association and organized by Xi’an International Medical Center Hospital.

Notable domestic experts from Peking University Third Hospital, Shanghai Changhai Hospital, Foshan Fosun Chancheng Hospital, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Union Hospital, among others, and experts from Xijing Hospital, Tangdu Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Provincial Tumor Hospital, and Xi’an International Medical Center Hospital delivered special lectures on the latest advancements in precise stereotactic radiotherapy and new achievements in oncology. The event also marked the launch of the sixth-generation CyberKnife robotic radiotherapy system. Over 100 experts and scholars from more than 20 relevant medical institutions across the province attended the conference.

Director Lu, Jun of the Radiotherapy Department at Xi’an International Medical Center Hospital was elected as the Chairman of the Committee. Six experts from Shaanxi Provincial Tumor Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xijing Hospital of the Air Force Military Medical University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an International Medical Center Hospital, and Lianqin Baozhangbu No.940 Hospital were elected as Vice Chairmen.

Chairman Lu, Jun stated that the committee aims to improve the level of oncology radiotherapy in Shaanxi, to become a platform for academic exchange and research cooperation in the field of radiotherapy, to serve as a base for training professionals, and to strengthen cooperation and technical support among radiotherapy units in various cities and counties. The goal is to safeguard the health of the people in Shaanxi and provide advanced and standardized diagnostic and therapeutic services for cancer patients.

Vice President Yang, Feng of Xi’an International Medical Center Hospital and President Chen, Zhao of the Shaanxi Medical Promotion Association delivered speeches and emphasized that the committee should further play a leading role in academic demonstration and inject new vitality into the development of radiotherapy technology in Shaanxi and the Northwest region.
