Shaanxi Medical Promotion Association Colorectal Special Committee Annual Conference and Pilonidal Sinus Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment Seminar Successfully Held

On May 25, 2024, the Shaanxi Medical Promotion Association Colorectal Special Committee Annual Conference and Pilonidal Sinus Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment Seminar was successfully held at Xi’an Daxing Hospital. The event was jointly hosted by the Youth Committee of the Southwest and Northwest Colorectal Association and the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, with Xi’an Daxing Hospital as the organizer.

Experts from various medical institutions, including Sun Yat-sen University Sixth Affiliated Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Yueyang Hospital, Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital, Beijing Tongrentang Hospital, Air Force Medical University Xijing Hospital, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Xi’an Daxing Hospital, focused on the standardized diagnosis and treatment of pilonidal sinus and clinical experiences of various colorectal and pelvic floor diseases. The conference featured a “hybrid” format with both in-person and online participation. Nearly 300 attendees joined in person, over 13,000 participated online, and the live broadcast received over 80,000 views.

Dr. Chen, Wenping from the Colorectal and Pelvic Floor Surgery Department of Xi’an Daxing Hospital was elected as the Director. Dr. Chen stated that the committee's future focus would be on enhancing communication between domestic and international, and between traditional and modern medicine, leveraging resources to complement each other. The committee aims to strengthen the specialist talent pool and technical training, promote colorectal health education, medical continuing education, and public welfare activities, and continuously enhance the committee’s innovation to benefit the public. Vice President Yang, Jiqing of Xi’an Daxing Hospital and President Chen, Zhao of the Shaanxi Medical Promotion Association delivered speeches and provided specific requests, hoping the committee will play a leading role and contribute to the high-quality development of healthcare in the province.
