The Inaugural Meeting and First Academic Conference of the Ophthalmology Professional Committee of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Was Successfully Held

On July 27, 2024, the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, in collaboration with Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, successfully held the inaugural meeting and first academic conference of the Integrative Ophthalmology Committee (Low Vision Rehabilitation Seminar) at Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. The event attracted over 200 experts and scholars from more than 20 medical institutions across the province.

During the meeting, the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association presented the appointment letter for the Chairperson of the Integrative Ophthalmology Committee to Dr. Song, Yanmin, the Director of the Ophthalmology Department at Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Dr. Song expressed her commitment to staying abreast of the latest developments and cutting-edge technologies in the medical field. She promised to leverage the committee's advantages to enhance research and clinical capabilities and promote the development of ophthalmology in the province.

Speeches were delivered by Lei, Yuanlin, Deputy Director of Xi'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and Chen, Zhao, President of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association. They emphasized the need for the integrative approach to continue its development, highlighting the importance of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine in treating eye diseases. They encouraged ongoing academic exchanges and the dissemination of knowledge.

The academic conference featured presentations from 17 renowned experts and scholars, covering a range of topics related to integrative diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
