On September 27-28, 2024, the inaugural meeting and first academic conference of the Vascular Anomalies Professional Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association was successfully held in Xi'an.

The event was hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and organized by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University. Chen, Zhao, President of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Vice President Zhang, Pengbo of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, along with experts from the First Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Medical University (Xijing Hospital), the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, among others from over 19 national and provincial hospitals and medical institutions, participated in person.

During the meeting, Professor Guo, Xinkui from the Pediatric Surgery Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University was appointed as the Committee Director. Professor Guo, in his commitment speech, pledged to inherit and develop the specialty, keep abreast of the latest medical developments and technologies, leverage disciplinary strengths, enhance scientific research and clinical capabilities, and strive for standardized and homogeneous development of vascular anomalies specialties across Shaanxi and the Northwest region. He emphasized the importance of using the platform for public education, domestic and international academic exchanges, multicenter clinical research, and training programs to provide high-quality services, especially to the people of the Qin region.

Following the inauguration, Vice President Zhang, Pengbo and Vice President Dai, Yi of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University delivered speeches, officially opening the first academic conference of the Vascular Anomalies Professional Committee. The conference featured 19 renowned experts and scholars from across the country discussing various topics and exploring the current state and advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular anomalies. Nearly 200 pediatric surgery and vascular anomaly professionals and related medical staff from within and outside the province participated with great enthusiasm, engaging in deep exchanges and sharing in the academic feast.

The conference was highly acclaimed by the participants for providing rich academic insights and valuable networking opportunities. Professor Guo, Xinkui of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University concluded the meeting, emphasizing that the successful conference served as a high-quality platform for experts to discuss and exchange ideas, fostering innovation and development within the field.
