2024 Academic Annual Conference of the Abdominal Surgery Special Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and Pancreatic Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Training Class Successfully Held

The 2024 Academic Annual Conference of the Abdominal Surgery Special Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and organized by the Abdominal Surgery Special Committee and the General Surgery Department of the Air Force Medical University Xijing Hospital, was successfully held from December 27-29, 2024, in Xi'an. This academic conference aimed to further promote the diagnosis and treatment level of abdominal surgical diseases in the province, enhance the comprehensive prevention and treatment capabilities of pancreatic diseases at grassroots medical institutions, promote the standardized training of abdominal surgery professionals, and strengthen the communication and cooperation among medical workers. Concurrently, a pancreatic disease diagnosis and treatment training class was conducted, taught by several experts in the field of abdominal surgery.

During the conference, Academician Kefeng Dou and Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association President Zhao Chen delivered video messages, expressing hopes that the event would further enhance the exchange and cooperation among medical workers, inspire new thinking, explore new possibilities, and collectively drive the innovative development in the field of abdominal surgery, contributing to its advancement.

Shuqiang Yue, Chair of the Abdominal Surgery Special Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and Director of General Surgery at Xijing Hospital, reported on the committee's work in 2024 and the focus for the upcoming year. In 2025, the committee will continue to strengthen the construction of bidirectional referral standards, facilitate referral pathways, conduct vascular surgery training classes, hold municipal continuing education projects, organize academic conferences, increase publicity efforts, enhance the committee's influence, provide regular guidance and training to member units of the committee, and strengthen talent team building.

Professors Zhengcai Liu, Yi Huan, Yan Chen, Quanxin Feng, and Xiao Li from Xijing Hospital; Professor Wenbin Yang from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University; Professors Cheng Guo and Yong Wan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiao Tong University, and Professor Zhenyu Ti from Xi'an No.3 Hospital delivered lectures on related topics.

In 2024, the General Surgery Department at Xijing Hospital continuously improved management regulations, enhanced management efficiency, and clarified the responsibilities, rights, and obligations between the main unit of the Abdominal Surgery Special Committee and other member units. The department actively promoted standardized and high-quality medical services, improved the level of diagnosis and treatment of retroperitoneal tumors, and service capabilities across medical units. Utilizing cutting-edge network technology, it achieved resource sharing and established effective online and offline consultation pathways for retroperitoneal tumors, providing online expert consultations and offline multidisciplinary, multi-expert consultation services to member units. Additionally, relying on the hospital platform, members of the committee visited the General Surgery Department at Xijing Hospital for advanced studies in standardized diagnosis and treatment of abdominal surgery; the department also sent several key physicians to various member units for technical guidance.
