In alignment with the strategic goals of the “Healthy China 2030” initiative and to advance the distribution of high-quality medical resources to grassroots communities, the Sports Medicine Special Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association successfully held an academic seminar and joint public health consultation event on February 28, 2025, in Lantian County.

Free Clinics Benefiting the People and Promoting Public Health
At 9 a.m., the outpatient hall of Lantian County People’s Hospital was packed with patients awaiting medical consultation. The expert team provided thorough physical examinations and medical consultations to all attendees. As a result, four patients were scheduled for surgery. This consultation event effectively addressed the local population’s medical needs and received widespread praise from the community.

Academic Exchange to Promote Knowledge Sharing
Following the consultation, the experts held an academic exchange session titled “Initial Exploration of the Integrated Model of Medicine, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, and Nursing—Experiences from Xi’an Red Cross Hospital.” The participants engaged in open discussions on topics such as national health, tiered diagnosis and treatment systems, health promotion through physical activity, exercise prescriptions, and the integration of medical care and elderly support. Valuable insights and suggestions were shared to promote the development of sports medicine and enhance grassroots healthcare services.

On-Site Visit to Explore New Models of Medical-Elderly Integration
After the consultation and academic sessions, the expert delegation was invited to visit the Bailu Creek International Elderly Wellness Center near Lantian County People’s Hospital. The team conducted an on-site inspection of the center’s service standards, facilities, dining conditions, digital infrastructure, and ward management. In-depth discussions were held with center leadership regarding potential collaboration models. The team also provided consultations and physical exams for bedridden elderly patients, gaining detailed insights into their medical and daily care needs. This visit provided valuable experience for exploring innovative models of medical-elderly integration and helped chart a clearer path toward meeting the diverse elderly care needs and enhancing seniors’ well-being and satisfaction.

The successful execution of this event marked a practical step toward implementing the tiered diagnosis and treatment system and expanding high-quality healthcare coverage to grassroots regions. Moving forward, the committee will continue deepening cooperative efforts and focus on building a comprehensive health service system that spans prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and elderly care—making greater contributions to strengthening grassroots healthcare and promoting a healthier Shaanxi.
