Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Recognized as a 5A-Level Provincial Social Organization

On March 24, 2025, the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Civil Affairs released the "2024 Provincial Social Organization Rating Announcement," in which the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (hereinafter referred to as "the Association") was recognized as a 5A-level provincial social organization.

This prestigious honor not only affirms the Association’s work but also inspires its future development. Under the guidance and support of superior authorities such as the Department of Civil Affairs, the Health Commission, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Association for Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province, the Association has made significant and steady progress in organizational development, member services, and social responsibility. Moving forward, the Association will continue to strengthen internal management, optimize its member service system, and improve service quality. It aims to establish platforms for academic exchange, talent development, research collaboration, and innovation transformation, contributing to the construction of a Healthy Shaanxi and the well-being of the local population.

Founded in April 1993, the Association is a first-tier non-profit social organization registered with the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and supervised by the Provincial Health Commission. It has over 10,000 expert members from leading provincial and municipal medical institutions, including the First and Second Affiliated Hospitals of the Air Force Medical University, the First and Second Affiliated Hospitals of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital. With more than 60 specialized committees led by prominent scholars in each field, the Association is a comprehensive medical service platform built by renowned institutions, experts, and key stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
It is currently a member of the Belt and Road International Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation (Shaanxi) Alliance, the Shaanxi Division of the SCO Hospital Cooperation Alliance, the Shaanxi International Medical Technology Transfer Center of the Department of Science and Technology, and the Overseas Intelligence Service Program Base of the Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology. Its approved scope of work includes theoretical research, scientific collaboration, international exchange, professional training, consulting services, science popularization, public welfare participation, and government-authorized services.

• Building an International Medical Exchange Platform
The Association has engaged in effective international cooperation with 35 countries and has organized more than 60 international science and technology exchange events. It has conducted academic and research collaboration with over 50 foreign experts, issued appointment certificates to 28 international medical specialists, signed 32 medical technology cooperation agreements, and established reciprocal visit mechanisms with medical institutions, universities, and research institutes in Belt and Road countries. It has actively hosted international academic conferences and exchanges to promote the transformation of global research outcomes.

• Building a Medical Academic Service Platform
The Association regularly hosts flagship academic events, themed conferences, grassroots training programs, and continuing education courses. It leverages the expertise of its specialized committees to advance medical disciplines across Shaanxi and the western region. It has also launched two international medical journals—International Journal of Pediatrics and International Journal of Pediatric Cardiology—registered in Georgia. Additionally, it offers a comprehensive digital information matrix through its website and official WeChat account, providing members with academic conference updates, continuing education opportunities, and research transformation services.

• Building a Medical Culture Communication Platform
Promoting medical science literacy and humanistic values is a core mission of the Association. Through partnerships with leading provincial and professional media outlets, it shares timely updates and has established a think tank of science communication experts. It has launched public education programs such as Medical Science for All, Morning Health Express, and Family Health Lecture Hall, regularly releasing educational videos and health content.

• Building an Industry Development Platform
The Association is committed to integrating the entire medical innovation chain—from government, industry, academia, and research to healthcare and investment. Relying on the Shaanxi International Medical Technology Transfer Center and the Belt and Road International Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation (Shaanxi) Alliance, it has built strategic partnerships with domestic and international institutions. It promotes innovation in medical and health sectors, facilitates resource integration, and advances the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
