American Medical Professor Invited to Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital for Academic Exchange

At the invitation of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, Prof. Lu, Yuanan, a tenured professor at the University of Hawaii, once again visited Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital for an academic exchange.

From June 10 to 11, 2025, Prof. Lu delivered the “Academic Exchange Conference on the Art of Refining SCI Papers” at the Fifth Conference Room and International Conference Hall of the hospital’s main campus, as well as in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Xixian campus. The session at the Xixian campus was chaired by Li, Yu, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, and the welcome speech was given by Wen, Hongxia, Deputy Director of the Teaching Department. A representative from the International Department of the Association presented Prof. Lu with a letter of appointment.

During the exchange, Prof. Lu gave three lectures covering four topics: How to Write an SCI Paper, How to Prepare Your Revision, Antimicrobial Resistance – A Growing Threat to Modern Medicine and Global Health, and How to Get Ready for Submission. All the course content was tailored to the needs of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and personally developed by Prof. Lu based on decades of overseas scientific research experience. These lectures provided clear guidance for resident physicians in writing SCI papers and conducting scientific research. Prior to this, Prof. Lu had already facilitated multiple instances of international academic cooperation.

This lecture series was an important part of the hospital’s “Scientific Research Capacity Enhancement Series for Resident Physicians.” After the exchange, Prof. Lu will carry out a two-week period of on-site mentorship, offering in-depth guidance to medical staff in their scientific research practice. Through this series of activities, the hospital aims to help resident physicians broaden their research horizons, promote the integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical research practice, encourage exploration of new research fields, foster innovation, try cutting-edge methods, continuously tap into their research potential, enhance their innovation capabilities, and produce more high-quality research outcomes.
