The Third Academic Conference of the Neurology Committee of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Successfully Held

On August 9, 2025, the Third Academic Conference of the Neurology Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association, along with the Third Shaanxi Neurology Knowledge and Skills Competition, was successfully held in Xi’an. The event was hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and organized by the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

The conference invited experts from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, the First and Second Affiliated Hospitals of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, and other institutions. The lectures covered a wide range of topics, including cerebral small vessel disease, intravenous thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke, the latest updates on migraine diagnosis and treatment, clinical applications of transcranial Doppler, advances in neuroimmunology, and rational medication for Parkinson’s disease. Young neurologists from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University presented clinical cases, demonstrating their clinical reasoning and diagnostic approaches. This not only showcased the hospital’s capabilities in managing complex and critical cases but also provided young doctors with a platform for rapid growth and participants with valuable learning opportunities.

In the afternoon, the Third Shaanxi Neurology Knowledge and Skills Competition was held simultaneously, offering young physicians a stage to showcase their expertise. Twenty-four teams competed in areas such as basic anatomy, pathophysiology, disease diagnosis, and standard treatment. Renowned provincial experts served as judges, providing precise evaluations of the answers while sharing their own clinical insights and advanced concepts. This approach of “promoting learning and teaching through competition” fostered the rapid growth of young neurologists.

With its focus on clinical practice and the convergence of professional expertise, this conference has increasingly become an important platform for communication among neurologists in Shaanxi. The integration of academic exchange with knowledge competition represents a significant innovation over traditional conferences, offering opportunities for knowledge renewal and intellectual exchange while strengthening young doctors’ fundamental skills. It has played a key role in enhancing the academic influence of neurology in the province.
