The 2025 Academic Conference on Urinary Control and Pelvic Floor Disorders (Xi’an Station) Successfully Concluded
On December 7, 2025, the Academic Conference on Urinary Control and Pelvic Floor Disorders hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association was successfully held in Xi’an. Centered on the core theme of “focusing on diagnostic and therapeutic innovation in urinary control and pelvic floor disorders and promoting coordinated regional medical development,” the conference brought together leading domestic and international experts and key clinical professionals. The event established a high-level academic exchange platform and promoted the advancement of diagnostic and therapeutic technologies in this field toward greater standardization and precision. The opening ceremony was chaired by Xue, Li, Executive Chair and Professor at the The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Main Venue:
Professor Liao, Limin analyzed the mechanisms and prospects of sacral neuromodulation in the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB). Professor Song, Bo shared diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for nocturia, while Professor Zhang, Yaoguang interpreted the clinical consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of male stress urinary incontinence.
The surgical practice session featured notable highlights. Professor Chen, Qi presented an innovative technique of “X-ray-free, ultrasound-guided sacral neuromodulation,” which avoids radiation risks and is conducive to promotion at the primary healthcare level. Professor Wei, Zhongqing focused on achieving a balance between function and aesthetics in pelvic floor reconstruction, addressing patients’ diverse needs. During the expert forum, specialists engaged in in-depth discussions on challenging issues such as urinary control recovery after prostate surgery and interpretation of international guidelines, offering solutions for regional collaborative development.
Sub-Venues:
At the Neuromodulation Sub-Forum, the “Neuromodulation Huaxia Tour” initiative was officially launched. Experts including Zhang, Yaoguang and Wei, Zhongqing reviewed the evolution of neuromodulation technologies, helping to connect the chain of “research–clinical practice–promotion.”
At the Bladder Function Management Sub-Forum, Professor Li, Xudong interpreted guidelines on nocturia, while Professor Song, Wei shared a full-cycle management model for neurogenic bladder, providing both standardized guidance and innovative perspectives for the field.
This conference brought together top-level expertise and built bridges for collaboration. Moving forward, the organizers will take this conference as an opportunity to promote coordinated improvement in regional diagnostic and treatment capabilities, strengthen talent cultivation, and advance technology dissemination.
