2025 Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Thyroid Professional Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association Successfully Held in Tongchuan

On December 13, 2025, the 2025 Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Thyroid Professional Committee was successfully held in Tongchuan, Shaanxi Province. The event was hosted by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association and jointly organized by the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Thyroid Professional Committee of the Association and the Sun Simiao Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The conference was chaired by Qi, Shuo, Chair of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Thyroid Professional Committee of the Association, Assistant President of Sun Simiao Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and President of the Thyroid Disease Hospital.

The conference invited more than ten nationally recognized experts, including Mi, Liehan, a nationally renowned traditional Chinese medicine physician; Guo, Hailing, Professor at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine; Zhang, Jie, Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University; Xiao, Yang, Professor at the Shaanxi Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Zhou, Wei and Luo, Wei, Professors at the National Population Health Data Science Center; Cao, Xiaojing, Professor at the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Bu, Dechao, Professor at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; Ding, Zhiguo, Professor at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine; Wang, Xiaoping, Professor at the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Xia, Zhongyuan, Professor at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital; and Zhao, Jiping and Zhang, Taojing, Professors at the Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

These experts delivered a series of in-depth academic reports and thematic discussions focusing on frontier topics such as the latest advances in integrated traditional Chinese and Western medical diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases, innovative integration of artificial intelligence and healthcare, research and development of traditional Chinese medicines and translation of research outcomes, and clinical practice of distinctive traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques.

The successful convening of this training program and annual meeting not only showcased the latest achievements in China’s prevention and treatment of thyroid diseases and in the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine, but also established an open, collaborative, and efficient professional exchange platform. The conference strongly promoted the deep integration of traditional medical wisdom with modern technological approaches, facilitated the systematic cultivation of specialized talents, and supported the continuous improvement of disciplinary systems, injecting new momentum and vitality into the high-quality development of the thyroid field and the broader cause of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
