Chronicle of International Medical Exchanges

Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association(SXIMEA) will leverage core platforms such as the Shaanxi Working Department of the SCO Hospital Cooperation Alliance and the Provincial International Medical Technology Transfer Center to strengthen its own development, give play to its industrial advantages, and unite its members in pragmatic efforts and innovation. It will build an international and domestic medical cooperation platform, develop into a high-quality academic society in western China, serve the industry, government and society, and contribute to the high-quality development of Shaanxi's health sector.

1.From March 14 to 15, 2025, Professor Ahmed Almousa from Helios Sport Orthopaedic Hospital of Germany, Associate Professor Nguyen Quang Binh from Vietnam National Hospital of Stomatology, and Associate Professor Le Hong Nhung from Vietnam National Children's Hospital were invited to visit Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and Xi'an Honghui Hospital.

2.From April 11 to 21, 2025, Professor Manuel Katz—President of the International Pediatric Consensus Society, Former President of the Israel Pediatric Association and renowned health management expert—was invited to visit Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and conduct a series of international medical exchange activities.

3.On April 26, 2025, the China (Shaanxi)-Kyrgyzstan (Osh Oblast) Healthcare Exchange Seminar was held, which contributes to the construction of the "Belt and Road" Health Community and promotes the in-depth and solid development of international medical exchanges and cooperation.

4.On May 19, 2025, top domestic and international experts in minimally invasive surgery, including Professor Javier Magrina from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in the United States and Professor Arnold P. Advincula from Columbia University in New York, were invited to participate in the "2025 Gynecological Laparoscopy and Robotic Surgical Skills Training Course".

5.On May 23, 2025, the 5th International Academic Forum on the Inheritance, Innovation and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for Cooperation and Exchange was successfully held. It gathered multiple stakeholders to explore new opportunities for the inheritance, innovation and international cooperation of TCM, and facilitate the overseas dissemination of TCM culture.

6.From June to October 2025, experts from multiple institutions including the University of Cambridge (UK), the National Research and Practical Center for Mother and Child Health of Belarus, the School of Medicine at Benha University (Egypt), the University of Hawaii (USA), the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the Nepal Pediatric Society, Helios Sports Clinic (Germany), and East Tennessee State University (USA) were invited to visit Shaanxi for special academic exchange activities.

7.On August 2, 2025, Professors Muxsina Khayriyeva Farxodovna and Laziz Niyazov from the Bukhara State Medical Institute of Uzbekistan were invited to the Second Annual Conference of the Neurology Professional Committee of the Shaanxi Geriatrics and Geriatric Medicine Association, and signed a scientific and technological cooperation agreement.

8. From October 24 to 26, 2025, medical management experts from Canada and other countries, as well as domestic experts, were invited to attend the 8th Western China Academic Conference on Medical Quality and Patient Safety.

9.On November 4, 2025, SXIMEA was officially appointed as the leading unit of the Medical Technology Innovation Special Committee of the "Belt and Road" International Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation (Shaanxi) Alliance. During the meeting, the Association jointly signed an intention agreement on international scientific and technological cooperation with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the First Moscow State Medical University of Russia. Meanwhile, it organized and accompanied a Thai medical group to conduct in-depth investigations at a number of medical enterprises and institutions in the province.

10.On November 29, 2025, experts in the interdisciplinary field of medicine and engineering, as well as specialists in rehabilitation and orthopedics, from China, Kazakhstan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other countries were invited to attend the "International Symposium on Collaborative Innovation in Medicine and Engineering and the 2025 Forum on Medicine and Engineering of the University Alliance of the Silk Road".

11.On December 20, 2025, the "International Symposium on Cutting-edge Technologies in Intelligent Radiosurgery and Neurosurgery" was successfully held. Authoritative experts from home and abroad conducted in-depth discussions on clinical applications and development trends, contributing to the upgrading of precision medicine technologies.

12.From December 26 to 27, 2025, the "2025 Conference on Cutting-edge Technologies and Precision Diagnosis & Treatment in Gastrointestinal Surgery and China-Japan New Academic Congress" was successfully held in the forms of live surgical demonstrations, thematic seminars, case sharing sessions and youth forums.

Going Global

1.From January 6 to 10, 2025, Jiao Fuyong, Honorary President of SXIMEA, was invited to attend and deliver a speech at an international medical conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

2.From February 1 to 5, 2025, the member units of SXIMEA were invited to attend the 1st Iran International Conference on AI in Medicine.

3.On March 26, 2025, Guo Ying, Chairperson of the Pathology Special Committee of SXIMEA and Director of the Department of Pathology of Daxing Hospital, went to Boston, USA to attend the 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP).

4.On April 7, 2025, Professor Jiao Fuyong was invited to attend the United Nations 2025 TCM Sustainable Development Goals Contribution Conference in Geneva, Switzerland,and delivered a keynote speech.

5.From May 20 to 24, 2025, SXIMEA organized a delegation of 8 medical experts to visit Nepal, to attend the Nepal Science, Technology and Academic Conference and the 21st Nepal International Pediatric Conference. During the trip, the delegation paid visits to a number of local hospitals and conducted in-depth academic exchanges on hospital management, talent training and other related topics.

6.On May 28, 2025, Professor Jiao Fuyong, Honorary President of SXIMEA, was invited to attend the 6th Kazakhstan International Medical Congress.

7.On May 29,2025,Professor Guo Xinkui, Director of the Hemangioma and Vascular Malformation Professional Committee of SXIMEA and Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, was invited by the Russian Children's Health Science Center to attend the 3rd All-Russia International Scientific and Practical Conference online.

8.From June 12 to 15, 2025, the research team led by Professor He Pengcheng, Honorary Director of the Hematology Professional Committee of SXIMEA and Department of Hematology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, was invited to Italy to attend the 30th Annual Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA2025).

9.From August 21 to 23, 2025, Professor Jiao Fuyong, Honorary President of SXIMEA was invited to attend the Vietnam International Dental Exhibition (VIDEC) and deliver a keynote speech.

10.On September 17, 2025, Professor Jiao Fuyong, Honorary President of Shaanxi International Medical Exchange and Promotion Association, was invited to attend the National Pediatric Congress of Belarus and deliver a special report.

11.Two research achievements by the team of Zheng Jiang and Zhang Liang have been published in the top international journals Journal of ISAKOS and The Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine respectively. Zheng Jiang is Honorary Director of the Sports Medicine Professional Committee of SXIMEA and Director of the Sports Medicine Center of Xi'an Honghui Hospital, while Zhang Liang is Director and Chief Physician of the said Professional Committee.

12.From November 18 to 19, 2025, SXIMEA was invited to attend the First Western China Seminar on Social Organizations”Going Global" Exchange and deliver a special report at the event. On December 14, the Association participated in the Training Course on Capacity Building for "Going Global" of Social Organizations in the Health Sector, where it further enhanced its capabilities in international operation and project management through systematic learning and in-depth discussions.
