Third Annual Academic Meeting of the SIMEPA Neuroimmunology Committee Successfully Held

From April 24 to 25, 2026, the Third Annual Academic Meeting of the Neuroimmunology Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) was successfully held. The conference was organized by SIMEPA and hosted by the Neuroimmunology Committee of SIMEPA and Tangdu Hospital of the Air Force Medical University. More than 200 leading experts and neurologists from across Shaanxi Province and other regions gathered to discuss the major challenges in the diagnosis and management of neuroimmunological diseases. The meeting focused on emerging technologies, recent scientific advances, and clinical experience, contributing to the high-quality development of neuroimmunology in the region.

The scientific program featured an outstanding lineup of academic presentations. Fifteen nationally recognized experts in neuroimmunology delivered keynote lectures addressing major advances and critical clinical issues in the field. Presentations covered a wide range of cutting-edge topics, including B-cell-targeted therapy for multiple sclerosis, comorbidity management in paroxysmal neurological disorders, recent advances in the treatment of insomnia, and updates to the 2025 clinical guidelines for myasthenia gravis. Experts also shared the latest progress in disease pathogenesis, biomarkers and neuroimaging, differential diagnosis, targeted therapies and biologic agents, evolving treatment strategies, and other emerging interdisciplinary topics related to neuroimmunological diseases.

A dedicated parallel session focused on neuroimmunology nursing, with presentations addressing the development of precision nursing systems for multiple sclerosis, long-term management of neuroimmunological diseases, and advanced nursing practice. Nursing case competitions, expert commentary, and interactive discussions provided an excellent platform for sharing clinical experience and promoting standardized, refined, and specialized nursing care. These activities further supported improvements in comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout the disease course.

The annual meeting brought together the collective expertise of leading specialists from across the country, generating productive discussions and a wealth of academic achievements. The conference highlighted the latest breakthroughs and innovative concepts in neuroimmunology while providing new momentum and clear directions for future development of the specialty. Building on the success of this meeting, the Neuroimmunology Committee of SIMEPA will continue to strengthen clinical practice and scientific research in neuroimmunological diseases, foster academic collaboration and consensus, enhance the discipline's academic and clinical capabilities, and contribute to the continued advancement of neuroimmunology and improved patient care throughout the region.
