Inaugural Meeting of the SIMEPA Digital and Intelligent Laboratory Medicine Committee and Symposium on Smart Technologies Empowering Precision Laboratory Medicine Successfully Held

On May 16, 2026, the Inaugural Meeting of the Digital and Intelligent Laboratory Medicine Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and the Symposium on Smart Technologies Empowering Precision Laboratory Medicine were successfully held at the Weishuiyuan Campus Conference Center of Xi'an Daxing Hospital. The event was organized by SIMEPA and hosted by Xi'an Daxing Hospital.

During the inaugural meeting, the Committee completed its leadership election through a democratic voting process. Professor Zeng Xianfei, Director of the Department of Clinical Laboratory at the Weishuiyuan Campus of Xi'an Daxing Hospital, was elected as Chair of the Committee. Professors Wang Zengguo, Li Zhuo, Lai Yanjun, Qu Xiaowei, Zhang Jun, Fang Le, Dang Xiaojun, Zhang Kaige, Wu Xiaokang, and Lin Fang were elected as Vice Chairs, forming the Committee's inaugural leadership team.

Following the inauguration ceremony, an academic symposium was held, bringing together leading experts and scholars in laboratory medicine from both within and outside Shaanxi Province. The conference focused on the latest advances and innovative achievements in the digital and intelligent transformation of laboratory medicine, with discussions covering future directions, technological innovation, and practical applications of smart laboratory systems. The meeting attracted a large number of laboratory medicine professionals seeking to exchange knowledge and explore emerging trends in the field.

During the conference, participants also visited the Smart Laboratory of the Department of Clinical Laboratory at the Weishuiyuan Campus of Xi'an Daxing Hospital, where they toured the facility and engaged in on-site academic and technical discussions.

Looking ahead, the Digital and Intelligent Laboratory Medicine Committee of SIMEPA will focus on promoting the deep integration of digital and intelligent technologies with laboratory medicine, while addressing the practical needs of healthcare development in Shaanxi Province. By leveraging its role as both an academic platform and a professional network, the Committee will establish an integrated framework for academic exchange, technology translation, and resource sharing. Through strengthened collaboration and the integration of high-quality resources, the Committee aims to advance innovation, support the high-quality development of laboratory medicine, accelerate the intelligent, digital, and standardized transformation of laboratory services across the province, and contribute to the continued advancement of healthcare in Shaanxi.
