11th Western China Pediatric Gastroenterology Conference and Training Program on Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Pediatric Diseases Successfully Held

From May 22 to 23, 2026, the 11th Western China Pediatric Gastroenterology Conference and Training Program on Standardized Diagnosis and Treatment of Common Pediatric Diseases was successfully held. The conference was organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and hosted by the Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Committee of SIMEPA and Tangdu Hospital of the Air Force Medical University. The event was co-organized by the Pediatric Gastroenterology Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the Neonatology Branch of the Xi'an Medical Association, and the Alliance of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Specialists.

The conference aimed to further standardize the diagnosis and management of pediatric gastrointestinal diseases, explore the latest advances in pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy, and promote academic collaboration and the continued development of pediatric healthcare in western China.

The scientific program featured 29 academic lectures, five national case presentation sessions by pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy teams, a training course on Endoscopic Retrograde Appendicitis Therapy (ERAT), and a dedicated workshop on the application of psychological assessment and intervention in the management of pediatric abdominal pain. More than 40 distinguished experts from across China shared their latest research findings and clinical experience, while over 300 pediatric physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals participated in the meeting.

The conference established a high-level platform for academic exchange, fostering extensive dialogue and deeper collaboration among experts in pediatric gastroenterology. Through the joint efforts of SIMEPA and specialists from across the country, the meeting further promoted the development of pediatric gastroenterology in western China and contributed to improving the quality and standardization of care for children with gastrointestinal diseases.
