SIMEPA Successfully Hosts Symposium on Precision Laboratory Medicine Supporting the Comprehensive Care System for Xenotransplantation

On May 23, 2026, the Symposium on Precision Laboratory Medicine Supporting the Comprehensive Care System for Xenotransplantation was successfully held at the First Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Medical University (Xijing Hospital). The symposium was organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and hosted by Xijing Hospital.

The symposium was led by Academician Dou Kefeng and brought together leading experts and nationally recognized specialists in transplantation medicine, clinical medicine, laboratory medicine, basic biomedical research, and medical engineering. Focusing on the critical clinical needs of organ transplantation and xenotransplantation, the meeting explored innovative approaches to integrating laboratory medicine, interdisciplinary medical engineering, and clinical practice. It also provided a high-level platform for multidisciplinary collaboration, fostering closer connections among academia, clinical practice, research, and industry while examining the role of precision laboratory medicine throughout the entire transplantation process.

Centered on the latest advances in xenotransplantation and emerging clinical challenges, the symposium facilitated extensive academic exchange and interdisciplinary discussion among experts from diverse fields. Participants explored the applications of laboratory medicine and medical engineering in organ transplantation and xenotransplantation, shared recent research findings and clinical experience, and promoted collaborative research across disciplines. The meeting contributed to the development of a more comprehensive precision support system for xenotransplantation and provided new momentum for the high-quality advancement of transplantation medicine.
