2026 Spinal Endoscopy Training Course Successfully Held in Xi'an

On June 6, 2026, the 2026 Spinal Endoscopy Training Course was successfully held in Xi'an. The event was jointly organized by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SIMEPA) and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University, and hosted by the Spinal Minimally Invasive Surgery Committee of SIMEPA. The training program attracted more than 60 young spine surgeons from across China and provided a high-level platform for academic exchange, technical training, and professional development.

The course invited eight leading experts in spinal endoscopy from Shaanxi Province to deliver lectures on the latest advances in minimally invasive surgery of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. The program covered emerging surgical techniques, challenging clinical cases, operative strategies, and the prevention and management of surgical complications. Following the theoretical sessions, 40 early- and mid-career orthopedic surgeons participated in hands-on training using standardized simulation platforms to practice core minimally invasive spinal procedures. Live surgical demonstrations were conducted simultaneously, with expert faculty providing real-time instruction on key operative techniques, technical considerations, and strategies for risk management. The standardized surgical demonstrations enabled participants to gain practical experience and develop essential procedural skills.

Looking ahead, the Spinal Minimally Invasive Surgery Committee of SIMEPA will continue to serve as a platform for academic collaboration by organizing high-quality training programs and technical exchange activities. Through strengthened cooperation among specialists across Shaanxi Province, the Committee aims to advance minimally invasive spinal surgery, cultivate professional talent, and promote the continued development of spinal minimally invasive medicine, ultimately improving spine care and patient outcomes throughout the region.
