The second AIDS prevention knowledge promotion “Million Campus Tour” event in Shaanxi Province was successfully held with a commendation and summary conference.

Recently, the second AIDS prevention knowledge promotion “Million Campus Tour” event in Shaanxi Province, sponsored by the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission and the Shaanxi Provincial Education Department, and hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), successfully concluded with a commendation and summary conference in Xi’an.

At the conference, the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SXIMEA), as one of the organizers, reported on the implementation of the project. In accordance with the requirements of the “Million Campus Tour” AIDS prevention knowledge promotion activities by the Provincial Health Commission, Provincial Education Department, and the Provincial CDC, and based on the content of the implementation manual of the “Million Campus Tour” AIDS prevention education project, the SXIMEA established an AIDS prevention knowledge promotion leadership team. This team actively organized educational activities in 30 universities (campuses).

Through the point-to-surface popularization of AIDS-related knowledge, a chain of communication was formed, subsequently creating a “hundred – thousand - ten thousand - hundred thousand - million” ladder to disseminate scientific AIDS prevention knowledge. This approach aims to reduce the risk of AIDS infection among young students, effectively curb the spread and prevalence of AIDS on campuses, and maintain the purity and health of the campus environment, achieving the expected propaganda effect. In this event, the SXIMEA conducted a total of 44 training sessions for teachers and counselors, trained 4670 student volunteers, organized 2621 peer education activities, carried out 1025 promotional activities, and reached a total of 150,919 students, with a total of 272 counselors trained.

The experts on site gave full recognition to the report of the Medical Association and the results of the supervision and acceptance. The three universities under the responsibility of the SXIMEA, Xi’an Medical College, Xi’an Technological University, and Xi’an University, were recognized as advanced units. The SXIMEA will further improve special measures for AIDS prevention and control, continue to increase various investments, strengthen publicity and education, establish a long-term mechanism for AIDS prevention and control work, and strive to explore and practice. The aim is to find a set of effective measures for AIDS prevention and control work in universities and contribute to national AIDS prevention and control.
