The “2023 Shaanxi Gynecological Minimally Invasive Technology Academic Forum” was successfully held by the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SXIMEA).

On March 26, the “2023 Shaanxi Gynecological Minimally Invasive Technology Academic Forum” was successfully held at Xi’an Angel Maternity Hospital. The forum was hosted by the SXIMEA, co-organized by the Zhongguancun Minimally Invasive Gynecology Alliance, and co-hosted by the SXIMEA ‘s Obstetrics and Gynecology Professional Committee and Xi’an Angel Maternity Hospital.

Zhao Chen, the president of the SXIMEA, delivered a speech at the event. Secretary-General Ning Wang awarded and prizes to the outstanding chairpersons of 2022, advanced individuals, and excellent professional committees. Thirteen well-known experts in the field of gynecological minimally invasive technology gave lectures on site, and nearly 100 gynecological clinical medical staff attended the conference. 

Research data from the World Health Organization regarding married women in our country also confirms this point: the incidence rate of gynecological diseases in our country is as high as 85.6%, and it shows an increasing trend year by year. Among them, four major diseases including cancers such as cervical cancer and breast cancer, infections, endometriosis, and pelvic floor functional disorders, account for more than 80% of gynecological diseases. Gynecological diseases have become the greatest killer of women’s health. How to cure these diseases? And how to minimize trauma during the treatment? These have always been the topics of common concern for many experts in obstetrics and gynecology.

At this academic forum, experts and professors from Class 3A hospitals and teaching hospitals such as Fudan University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital of the Air Force Medical University (Xijing Hospital), Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiao Tong University, the Second Affiliated Hospital Of Xi’an Jiao Tong University (Xibei Hospital), Northwest Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Shaanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University, and Xi’an Angel Maternity Hospital mainly focused on hot topics such as minimally invasive treatment of gynecological tumors, new minimally invasive gynecological techniques, tumor-free technology in gynecological laparoscopic surgery, and surgical treatment of congenital reproductive tract development abnormalities. They delivered themed academic lectures, discussed technical difficulties, and broadly exchanged clinical experiences, creating a vibrant and active academic atmosphere on site. The vivid and detailed knowledge explanations by the experts, along with the sharing of classic surgeries and unique clinical cases, brought great benefits to the participants.

During the conference, Yaqin Wang, the director of Angel Maternity Hospital, led the gynecology team and initially agreed on a cooperation intention with the team led by Professor Duan Ma from Fudan University in Shanghai. After the conference, they will further establish close contact and continuously promote the advancement of the hospital’s discipline construction.

The successful holding of this academic meeting is not only a high recognition of the professional level of our hospital’s gynecology department by our peers but also a valuable opportunity to further promote the innovative development of our hospital’s gynecology.
