The Inauguration Ceremony of the Radiology Special Committee of the Shaanxi International Medical Exchange Promotion Association (SXIMEA) and the Seminar on the Clinical Application of New Radiology Techniques was successfully held.

On the afternoon of May 12, 2023, the ‘Inauguration Ceremony of the Radiology Special Committee of the SXIMEA and the Seminar on the Clinical Application of New Radiology Techniques,’ sponsored by the SXIMEA and hosted by the the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University (Xi’an No.3 Hospital), was successfully held at the Xixian International Conference Center.

Zhao Chen, President of the SXIMEA, and Ning Wang, the Secretary-General, Mei Tao, Party Secretary of Xi’an No.3 Hospital, and Junle Yang, the Hospital Director, Professors Youmin Guo, Ming Zhang, Quanxin Yang, and Yuelang Zhang from Xi’an Jiao Tong University, Xiaofeng Tao, Professor from the Ninth Hospital of Xi’an Jiao Tong University, and Professor Xiaoling Zhang from the Provincial People’s Hospital, along with other well-known experts from both within the province and across the country, attended the event on site. The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Ning Wang, the Vice President and Secretary-General of the SXIMEA.

At the beginning of the conference, Mei Tao, Party Secretary of Xi’an No.3 Hospital, representing the main committee unit, extended a warm welcome to all the professors, experts, and guests who had traveled from afar. Secretary Tao introduced the basic situation of Xi’an No.3 Hospital, affirmed the important position of the medical imaging department in the development and growth of the hospital, and expressed the belief that under the leadership of Director Junle Yang, we will work together with all imaging colleagues to expand the influence of the imaging specialty and continuously benefit the public.

The conference separately voted on and passed the election methods and procedures, as well as the election supervisors, ballot monitors, and vote counters. Through an online voting system, one director, two consultants, eight deputy directors, and twenty-seven standing committee members were elected to the first term of the Radiology Special Committee of the Shaanxi Province Medical Promotion Association.

Junle Yang, the Hospital Director of the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University (Xi’an No.3 Hospital, was elected as the Director of the Radiology Special Committee of the SXIMEA. 

Director Junle Yang made a commitment speech, feeling honored and acknowledging the great responsibility as the first Director of the Radiology Special Committee of the SXIMEA. Director Yang reported the key points of the next step of work: firstly, to actively carry out academic exchange activities, grassroots training, case discussions, and support for grassroots hospitals, to take the city’s imaging diagnosis work to a new level; secondly, to continuously highlight the characteristics of the medical imaging profession, strengthen communication and contact among all members, adhere to the open style of conducting meetings and cooperative communication, sharing ideas and insights; thirdly, to fully utilize the platform for mutual discussion, exchange of ideas, promote complementary advantages, keep pace with the development of the discipline, continuously explore and innovate, with the continuous strengthening and improvement of imaging technology as the core, to make greater contributions to the development of imaging science.

Finally, Zhao Chen, the President of the SXIMEA, concluded the event with a speech. He congratulated the establishment of the Radiology Special Committee and the election of the Director, Deputy Directors, Standing Committee Members, Secretary-General, and members. He highly affirmed Director Junle Yang’s work plan, pointed out the direction for carrying out society work, encouraged better achievements during his term, and expressed his gratitude to Xi’an No.3 Hospital, the main committee unit.

With the strong support and leadership of the SXIMEA, the Radiology Special Committee will undoubtedly adhere to the principles of ‘seeking truth, pragmatism, harmony, and innovation’, and devote itself to the academic exchange, talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and domestic and international exchange activities organized by the SXIMEA, making new contributions to promote academic improvement in relevant fields and advancing the construction of a healthy China.

The inauguration ceremony was successfully completed in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere.

After the inauguration ceremony, a seminar on the clinical application of new radiology technologies was held.

The first session of the seminar featured insightful academic presentations by Professor Xiaofeng Tao from the Ninth Affiliated Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, who shared ‘Key Points of Quantitative and Semi-quantitative Analysis of Salivary Gland Occupancy Imaging,’ and Professor Quanxin Yang from the Second Affiliated Hospital Of Xi’an Jiao Tong University (Xibei Hospital) , who shared ‘Relevant Influencing Factors of Diffusion-Weighted Imaging and Image Interpretation’.

The second session of the seminar featured enlightening academic presentations by Professor Ming Zhang from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiao Tong University, who shared ‘Construction and Practice of the Research Innovation Platform for Brain Science and Imaging New Technology in Shaanxi Province,’ and Professor Junle Yang from the Affiliated Hospital of Northwest University (Xi’an No.3 Hospital), who shared ‘Application of MRI in Epilepsy Diagnosis’.

The third session of the seminar featured an introduction to new technology by research experts from GE Company, who shared ‘GE Medical Imaging New Technology Report’.

The experts shared a wealth of professional knowledge and research experience, creating a veritable feast of academia. The scholars who attended the conference expressed that they had gained a lot.
